Traders - Welcome to England's Medieval Festival!

Set amidst the stunning Sussex countryside Herstmonceux Castle is just ninety minutes from London by road and a mere stone's throw from the south's major holiday resort towns of Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. The location, venue and content make this event popular with visitors and traders alike. The focal points of the Festival are the colourful trading areas, where visitors may browse at their leisure, in between the many spectacular shows such as mounted full armour Jousting, Parades, Falconry, Castle Sieges, Archery and much more.

Within the grounds we offer traders free on site camping, with hot showers, or if you prefer, hotel-type B&B accommodation. The food & beer tent, along with evening entertainment will remain open in the evenings, where a magnificent selection of fine foods cooked freshly will be offered accompanied by fine beers, ales and beverages. The live music and entertainment adds to the magical ambience of the Buxom Wench Tavern.

You will find it both profitable and enjoyable to be involved in this authentic celebration of the colourful Middle Ages and we look forward to welcoming you to England's Medieval Festival and Craft Fair at Herstmonceux Castle.

There are four categories of Traders at England's Medieval Festival. Please choose your category from the list below.

Medieval Traders

Medieval Traders trade only at medieval events. The point of sale is an authentic style medieval tent. These traders dress in authentic style costume of the period and sell period type products. The trading pitch is considered an attraction as much as a point of sale.

Retail and Craft Traders

These Traders sell either hand crafted products (modern/non-medieval) or modern mass produced products, and would typically sell at events which may or may not be themed. The point of sale may either be inside our Festival marquee or the trader's own display covering (i.e. tent or canopy)

Living History Traders and Demonstrators

These Traders are in authentic dress, and sell or demonstrate from an authentic period tent or structure, selling or demonstrating the hand crafting of authentic period products only.

Kid's Kingdom Traders

The Kid's Kingdom traders sell toys or games (modern/non-medieval) either modern mass produced products or hand-made. Or they operate medeival or relevant games services (i.e. face painting). The point of sale may either be inside a Festival marquee or the trader's own display covering (i.e. tent or canopy)
